Opuntia chaffeyi flowering

Post by chris68 »

Caught this in flower today. Both of my plants are very lax in habit and after putting them in very large pots they decided to flower (approx. 40 flowers on both plants).

The tubers show no signs of stopping going deeper and are already pushing the plant out of an 18cm deep pot, I have one larger pot to go and that's all I can give them (30cm deep) other than that its a length of large diameter pipe!

Fairly washed out yellow but nice none the less.

Varied collection of mostly cacti with some Agave and Aloes - space is always the problem!!

O. chaffeyi is a very untidy plant, but my two are just about clinging on to life so no flowers here.( might take cuttings and start again )
But nice flowers all the same Chris 68.
