Re: Pterocactus fischeri KP161
You do wonder if the plant makes one last effort, I have never had this happen with Pterocactus or Opuntia but over the years I have had a few pop their clogs after flowering mainly in the Aylostera/Rebutia group, they seem to flower themselves to death or know pollination and seeds is the only way to survive.

I just saw this so went straight out to check my greenhouse.Ross M wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 5:24 pmThe whole thing has gone unfortunately. I'm scratching my head as to what went wrong and can only assume it was weather related. There were a couple of sunny days after I last watered and I'm wondering if the plant (along with one of my other Pterocactus) was cooked.
I have five forms of fischeri out there. Four of them are in robust health. The fifth, KP161 is alive, but looking sickly. Strange…. Spooky even.
