Couple of Gymnos

Post by peter831shaw »

I have been really liking the symmetry of the spines, but the flowers won't stop!

It's been a good year for Gymnocalycium
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

If you want flowers you can't go far wrong with Gymnocalyciums.
Nice photos!

I would only add that it should be spelled mendozaense. It means it comes from Mendoza province.

Gymnocalycium mendozaense is named after the military station Gabino Mendoza in the Paraguayan province Boqueron.
