Haworthia retusa longibracteata CC 0127 details

Post by MatDz »

I am in a need of a helpful hand with deciphering details of a Joyce Cocozza Haworthia retusa longibracteata CC 0127 (ex RM A142 ex Sheilams). Who's RM, and what is Sheilams? The internet was greatly disappointing...

Mat,
The second part of your question is easy to answer.
"Sheilams" = Sheilam Cactus Nursery near Robertson, SA.
https://sheilamnursery.com/

The Haworthia Society has the database of Joyce Cocozza's plants on its website and, indeed, here are the data for CC 0127:

Number Name_1 Name_2 Type Number_2 Location Source Date acquired/sown Plant/Seed Cost Notes Number_3
CC 0127 retusa longebracteata SP RM A142 RM ex Sheilams 1/5/1987 Plant 87 - light green offset with five_ narrow_ retuse leaves

(RM could be Roy Mottram or anyone else who had those initials back in the 1980s.)

Hope this helps.

Thank you Tony for the nursery link and potential RM identification! I should have linked to the database, as that's where I found the details I'm trying to decipher.
