YORSHIRE CACTUS AND SUCCULENT RALLY 2024

Post by Simon S »

The name may have changed from Zone 3, but the perfect end to the social calendar will take place as usual this year

The Yorkshire Cactus and Succulent Rally will be held at the Carlton Social Club, Carlton WF3 3RW, close to the M1 / M62 interchange, on Saturday 26 October 2024.

As always, the Rally will feature wonderful speakers:

- Graham Charles - Matucana in Habitat and Culture (new talk)
- Ivor Crook - The Evolution of the Crassula Family (new talk)
- Ian Woolnough - Mexico 2022

Plant sales will be available from: Desert Plants, Graham Charles, Ian Woolnough, Andrei Nitu and Leeds Branch. Please contact Peter Smith smipt6@aol.com or 0113 250 5276 if you'd like to sell at the Rally - there's no charge and enquiries are very welcome.

Tickets are £17 with the buffet and £12 without. Please see the Rally's website for further details and how to book: https://bcss.org.uk/event/yorkshire-cac ... ent-rally/

We hope you that you'll share this great event with us.

Just giving this thread a bump since it's now less than two weeks away.

The stage is set and the buffet order is in subject to final numbers. The sales tables are all taken, with a great range of nursery and private plants, including a collection disposal. Tickets are still available if you fancy a great day out to round off the social calendar. Talks from Ian Woolnough, Ivor Crook and Graham Charles have all been adapted for the Rally, with two of them being completely new. Hope you can join us next Saturday.

This was a fantastic day - great speakers, great plants for sale, and great to catch up with some familiar faces.

Well done to Simon and everyone else responsible for organising the event.

Roll on 2025!
