I've really started something here!! I too would think that cactus would expect colder/damper weather in the winter - or maybe being southern hemisphere would mean their winter is at the same time as our summer?
Not quite so new to cacti now - greenhouse up and running - a cactoholic is born!! Visits welcome - just get in touch.

The plant in question obiously has a connection to this forum as it is now in bud with one flower just about to open!! Somehow it looks like a darker red than last year's mid-purple but maybe that is just the bud colour. Keep the comments coming - I need all the advice I can get.
