Apologies as this will test your Broadband speed!:tweed:

A great day was had last Saturday through in Glasgow at their branch show held in the fantastic Kibble Palace in the Botanic Gardens.

Some great plants, which were judged by David Rushforth (see if you can spot him in one of the pictures).

I'd intended to note all the names to accompany the photos. but unfortunately there were just too many plants on display to keep track of:embar: However, any questions just give me a shout and I'll do my best.

First up, a couple showing the outside of the Kibble Palace (& one inside looking up!). The plants were laid out right around the perimeter inside -

Thanks for the broadband test Ross. The pics are fantastic and that is a fine venue! 20 more years of growth and some of mine might look that good.

Mal.

What a breathtaking location! Is it glazed with glass?

Great pictures, and thanks for the Stenocacti/Echinofossulocacti. Why is Slovenia such a small country and why don't we have such shows?

Absolutely wonderful photos, Ross! And plants to match too, there are some cracking cacti there. (And I would have dusted the cobwebs, too!)

Yes, it is. It was build in the 1860's but fell into disrepair in the late 20th Centuary. It was completely dismantled in 2003, send down to Sheffield (I think) and put back together again in 2006. Some of the original Victorian glass was retained.

It really is an amazing building, both from the outside and inside. It's a considerable size. The main round bit houses the National Tree Fern collection, with additional bit's coming out from the sides housing carnivorous plants and succulents etc.

This might give a better feel of the scale of it

Some absolute cracking plants there Ross and great pics(tu)

Not a Lophophora but a... Thelocephala or Eriosyce as they're all regarded as nowadays, such as aerocarpa.

Got to be the biggest crucigera I've ever seen::o

Very nice clean Fero too, looks like rectispinus.
