In'spire'd by cacti

Post by SimonR »

Hello!

My name's Simon and I've eventually got round to joining the BCSS (affiliated to the Sheffield branch) and now I find myself here on the forum. I've often visited as a guest in the past and been impressed by the knowledge that's been shared here along with the fascinating insights into members collections. I also subscribe to the useful BCSS Facebook group which keeps me up to date with cactus events.

I've always been a fan of succulents - my Dad introduced me to cacti with a Mammilaria he got from Boots in Chesterfield - that would have been about 1979 I guess!

I'm currently based in Bexley, but after Christmas I'll be permanently settled back in Chesterfield where I have a modest 6' x 8' Halls greenhouse. I've decided that Gymnocalyciums are going to be my main interest, but I also enjoy growing Rebutias, Echinopsis and Echinocereus - basically anything that can tolerate a cold greenhouse.

Hope to join in with the discussions anon
