Sulcorebutia candiae

Post by Phil Hocking »

We have been discussing the difficulties experienced when photographing flowers of certain colours, e.g. red or in my case yellow. The conclusion seems to be to underexpose a little so I have done that with this photo of Sulcorebutia candiae. The exposure is corrected later in Serif PhotoPlus. I haven't had time to experiment with all the degrees of underexposure but this one looks OK

By the way, the writing on the label has completely faded and it took me a while to remember the species. So re-write those fading labels sooner rather than later

Member of Somerset branch. I have a diverse mixture of small cacti plus a few larger survivors from a previous collection. I also like Stapeliads, Titanopsis, Anacampseros, and various other succulents. Now proud owner of many self-raised seedlings.
