One of the advantages of Stapeliads is that the flowers are still open at the end of a day when you return home after work. These 2 were in flower today; Orbea carnosa ssp keithii and Stapelia cedrimontana.

Nothing to smell from a distance, only when you put your nose close to the flower there is an unpleasant smell.

That's a huge 'leendertziae' flower Mike! Flowers in my clone of that species are much smaller.

I don't have particularly big hands...
The smell is not too bad actually. Far smaller flowers have far bigger smells.
Pilifera is about 9 years old from seed. It needs a surprsingly large amount of water and in the picture it is leaning because it needs water. It's now nice and upright again.
