Agave pygmaea had been suggested..

Not one I am familiar with, although a quick Google doesn't look like a good fit. Still, never say never.

A few pictures of some Agaves growing outside for the ‘summer’:

A newly acquired A. montana. I don’t really have the space but look at those marginal spines...
My largest montana starting to perk up in it’s new pot.

Montana #4, with a denser rosette than the others. It just goes to show how different ‘the same plant’ can be with the genetic variation that comes with seed grown plants.
Another new plant. I’m not sure if it falls more towards gentryi or montana but it’s a very nice plant either way.
‘Blue Ocean’/‘Baccarat’, probably a tissue cultured form of A. gentryi.

Looking good! Tempted to plant any out in the ground?

Unfortunately I'm not currently in the position to plant anything out, hence my current setup of using very little in the way of organic matter in my potting mixtures. In theory this should reduce growth rates while still keeping the plants going, though I would really like to plant some of my bigger and more cold/wet tolerant Agaves in the ground eventually.

My largest VR. Interestingly, I acquired another VR last year and it was the only plant to be damaged by the cold period we had earlier this year, demonstrating that even usually hardy plants can take damage when not hardened off properly.

Some gorgeous plants there. Nicely grown.

Here are a few of my hybrids that I have decided to keep and grow on. They are all from the same seed batch and have been treated the same. Quite a Mixed bag.

Some more hybrids. Parrasana x sobria. Have only a couple as shown in IMG_1010 (Large) and the rest turned out like IMG_1471.

Last Year's Seed, These mostly came from Lophantha and Heteracantha after using a varied selection of saved pollen.
