Thank you all for your comments. It may look tidy and organised - that's just the way I have always worked as a practical scientist, with attention to detail, and order & structure - but there is much to be done. I have just started repotting/potting on columnar plants (oreocereus, espostoa, etc) that have been in 12F pots for many years. Some are going into 15F pots whilst others need 19F pots. Space will be at a premium!

Yes, cactusgirl and Rod, I grow most of my gasterias under the benches and tables, they still get sufficient light and very few suffer from elongated leaves. Just be extra careful if you move such plants into a sunny spot, especially at this time of year. They will take sun, but only if they become accustomed to it gradually. Equally, they also grow well on less sunny windowsills in the house.

Thanks Tony for the advice. I've also today moved my Haworthias and Aloes to the Gasteria shelf as my thinking is that they perhaps need the same kind of care? Although I'm still working as a front line emergency service worker, not being able to go to the gym, or ride my horse out has meant my greenhouse has had a spring clean! On my next days off I'm tackling the glass outside with a sponge and glass cleaner! lol can't wait 🤔

What about spiders and cobwebs, there must be more than a few in that space. My 8x8 greenhouse looks like something out of an Indiana Jones film. I normally ignore the spiders as they may well be beneficial although had to free an orange tip butterfly from the web this morning. I am a little more wary now, I think some false black widow spiders have moved in.

All cobwebs removed and spiders safely relocated!

Most Aloes will prefer plenty of sun. There are exceptions.
