Euphorbia tanquahuete

Post by Paul in Essex »

I bought this last month, knowing absolutely nothing about it but thought it would be nice to grow in my greenhouse border. It is Mexican, from Oaxaca, so that attracts me to it straight away. it has a lovely name :) The peeling bark is very attractive and I have other things that do this nearby :) Also the ribs were picked out in an almost luminous red from the plain green. But perhaps the ribs were indicative of what was to come? I certainly wasn't expecting the leaves to go such a rich colour for autumn, though! Magnificent.
