Those things are really weird.
At the beginning of the post mentioned interesting articles or pdf. I think I plugged this one before but it is definitely worth a read if you missed it.

Probably a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway.

Why is there no mention of Agave americana, which I assume is one of the most common Agaves, in Greg Starr's book?

Are you sure you want them? Seriously, a good place to start is probably to have a look at what Keith Larkin has for sale:

Hello Ralph
I have just finished my second purchase from Kieth. I feel fortunate to have such a good resource as his available here in the uk.
I'm always happy to learn of good books.
The Japanese echeveria book was great, I'm after all the knobbely leafed forms having there names definitely helps.
I have purchased a book.. Ethnoflora of the socotra archipelago.. it has a lot of information on all the plants of the island and their uses. Not quite as many photos as I would have liked. Though makes up for this with very detailed info on each plant, locality and human uses.
Such a tragidy what is happening in the Yemen at the moment.

I like this website too

It's pretty good for looking at wild plants

All my plants are kept indoors and I started collecting in August 2018. Favourites are Pachyphytum, Echeveria, Haworthia, Mesembs and oddball Cacti.

Sulcorebutia 2008, by Ladislav Horáček

Sulcorebutia 2020, by Ladislav Horáček

These last two need to be taken together really; 2008 gives a summary of known species recognised by the author to date, and 2020 adds to these with expansions and new discovered species.
I bought the 2020 book above earlier this year. It's a good quality book but (there's always a but) it doesn't have a contents page or index. So I'm finding it increasingly frustrating to use the book.

I don't suppose getting the 2008 book is going to clear up that issue by any chance, is it?
Am I missing something here?

The 2020 book is a supplement to the 2008 book I think. At least, using them together makes it a lot clearer.
