After a few days of coming home to this sort of thing later last week:

It was great to be at home over the weekend to see some open flowers!

Yeah, I have a halfway attitude to rebutias: mediolobivias and aylosteras are Aylostera but the sulcos, weingartias etc. are still just fancy Rebutia.

Cintia is a nicer name, they always remind me of car tyres, cute little plants.
How do you keep the rsm at bay

I'm not really sure! By keeping them near to other plants that the mites prefer?

I have a great solution to coming home and finding your flowers shut: retire!

Despite the lack of sun, there's now plenty flowering in my greenhouse. Nearest to the door are some Lobivia maximiliana, first with typical flowers:

Then one with a white throat and open shape:

There have been some yellow Lobivia pentlandii during the last week but they've not really been open when I've been around. Some red and pink forms waited until today:

At the far end, the aylosteras continue. Fewer pinks now, more reds, oranges and yellows, including these.
