God knows what the label means but it is a nice flower. Probably called something else by now but since I can remember the request that they all be called steinbachii I will leave the label as it is.

First one is yesterday.

Gorgeous flowers. There's just something so satisfying about Sulco flowers - maybe it's the shininess of them?

I have a BCMdV plant in my collection and there's a note in my database to say that its number has the same field data as the equivalent BLMT number. Is it Bates, Somebody, Somebody and de Vries?
These are lovely plants, usually taken to be forms of tarabucoensis. Most tend to have a bit more yellow and less of the red. I'm a fairly extreme sulco-lumper but even I wouldn't put this under steinbachii (mine are under canigueralii).

I bought a plant a few years ago from Martin Lowry that had a Similar collection number. Martin told me that it had originally been numbered by Brian Bates - his comment below
‘ not one of mine. It was originally given the number BLMT204.01 by Brian Bates but seeing as I wasn't on that trip I decided to 'rebadge' it to BCMdV (Bates, Carr, Marshall & de Vries). You'll find it in the Martin database under it's former number.’
Please note this is not about your plant but just a general comment.

Is there someway of putting the acronyms in the database and getting a list of collecting numbers out?

I have added BCMdV to the field number database. Thanks for this info.
I've also add LM, which Martin Lowry now uses for his collections; earlier ones are renumberings of BLMT numbers.

I am afraid not. Some collectors gave me their lists on the express condition that their whole list could not be retrieved (one reason being because they had printed copies for sale, and didn't want to be left with unsellable stock), and it is too tedious to start handling lots of special cases.
