Re: Root mealy bug
Regarding my earlier post and root guard. The active ingredient was Diazinon. Never had any root mealy bugs using the stuff. Got banned in the stated in 1988 and later in Europe/UK for domestic use. Roy Mottram believed it to be a major hazzard to health when used in a small greenhouse. Once in your system it stayed leading to health problems. Good side it killed all manner of insects.

Same antidote as nerve gas for acute poisoning - deadly nightshade. Chronic effects are more difficult to treat, just like nerve gas.Ernie wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 10:21 am Regarding my earlier post and root guard. The active ingredient was Diazinon. Just heard Bob Flowerdew on Gardeners' Question Time remarking that mealy bug fluoresce brightly with a UV torch, as a suggestion of some gardening to do at night. He did not mention the wavelength.
