Tephro ID please - solved

Last night Sheffield Branch had its first in-person meeting since March last year. Albeit outdoors in a carpark. We had a successful C & S auction. I don't have any space for new plants, so went knowing that I wouldn’t be buying any. Well, sort of. The Opuntia fragilis won't need any greenhouse space, it'll stay outdoors, so it doesn't count. And the Crassulas are all small, so they don't count either. Then there was another Opuntia needing a new home. The label is very faded. I think I can make out Tephrocactus applica. I wonder if it could be applanata. If so, the new label would be Cumulopuntia sphaerica. It's virtually spineless (loads of glochids, though), but there are a few spines on a couple of joints on one branch.

Any suggestions?
