The Cactus Banner is now erected on the railings outside the venue to help you with recognizing the building.

Also, for 'new comers' the single storey building is coloured in varying shades of mid/light blue....quite distinctive !

See you all on the day

Tony.

Some cracking Aeonium and Sarracenia (amongst others) there! Shame it's so far away from Nottingham!

Nah
There and back before lunch (late perhaps).
Just the cost of the go-go juice which makes it questionable.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Nice assortment of plants and some interesting prices. Are there any attendance figures?

200 is a reasonable figure, I'm not sure how to reach the collectors who haven't realised there's more places to look than garden centres. Dave Appleton's Herne Bay cactus marts which had about 700 is something to aspire to. It didn't help having two dates this year when there were two cactus marts on the same day.

At the Leeds mart most people who did turn up seemed to be relative newcomers to the hobby, so the organisers seem to have managed to attract some newbies and it was BCSS members who mostly didn't visit.

That’s interesting Tracey. I believe this event was the same especially as Tony & the crew make a big effort to publicise the event. It was also mistakenly missed from the BCSS journal advert. Based on what I have been told previous Marts this year had a very low footfall. I’m not sure how much of this was affected by the opening up after COVID but I seriously think we need to make more of an effort to advertise at a local level such as GC’s , local radio , newspapers etc as well as Social media.
