Unexpected winter colour

My Echeverias don't normally flower in January. I think the very mild December may have helped to produce these stumpy flowers.

This is a little bit more expected. A few Eriosyce species will flower right through winter, given a little water, although this one usually runs out of steam, or water, or warmth, by January/
