Grown from BCSS seed- sorry I don't recall from whom it originated- here is one of my first few plants to come into flower this year, Rebutia aff. wessneriana from El Angosto de Jaire, Jujuy province in Argentina.

Echinocereus viridiflorus - the most colourful cactus for me at the moment, and nicely scented too.

I think this is now called Echinocereus viridiflorus subs. davisii but my label still has it as Echinocereus davisii

The only other new flower I could see today was on this Crassula which was distributed as Crassula namaquensis ISI 97-63 but seems to be Crassula sericea. Plant has grown sideways to sprawl over adjacent pots and flowers are on long stalks so bit difficult to get picture of whole plant especially when sun is only shining on top

Thank you everyone for your participation!

The winner is el48tel's Parodia schwebsiana. It didn't have the large, brightly colored flowers of some of the other pictures, but I liked how the spines complemented the smaller orange bloom. (tu)

Thanks Evan
Yes it was the spine coloration together with the flower in the morning sunshine which caught my attention.
And technical information in case folk want to know

This April contest is already over. I agree, post it in the May thread.
