This P. fischeri just beat australis and meglioli to flower.

The only one of mine to do anything so far is P. hickenii.

Ralph thats a beautiful flower. (tu) the centre is a wonder of nature, and to think they do this in a very hostile habitat.

They can be rather straggly plants, but the flowers are wonderful. Here's another P. fischeri in flower (picture taken this evening), none of the others are out yet.

JST, your tuberosus has very bright yellow flowers - I like it. One old P. tuberosus I had, had flowers the same colour - dark brown - as the stems, and I didn't see it flowering at first!

This clone of P kuntzei is the first of my Pterocacti to bloom this year. It has larger blooms than my other forms.
