A better photo of the outer, striped petals in daylight.

They look good, it's lovely to see this family in flower.

Usually the MN135 produces stripy orangish flowers, with some petals yellower, and others redder. Yours is doing it somewhat, but not as much I typically get. Maybe our conditions are different.

Re: A couple of species Rebutia/Aylostera
It did it better last year - must be something to do with the conditions in the greenhouse this year. This is the first day it's opened too so wondered if it would kick in more tomorrow. (I might not be able to get a photo tomorrow or during the week though so wanted to snap a quick one today in case!)

Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

These two plants came from Ralph at round about the same time. They might be interesting for
comparison. I think there is a tiny bit of striping on the MN135. This is one of the first flowers it has produced although there are more on the way now.

Thanks Simon - cracking plants and nice to see a sister of mine!
Few more flowers coming out today and definite improvement in the contrast. The atrovirens just keeps looking better and better. Becoming a real favourite!

That R. fabrisii is very lovely indeed. In this pink form the contrast is not quite as striking, but it is still a very pretty flower to my eyes. The picture is from a couple of years ago, the plant is only in bud now.
