What a strange 'Turnip' plant.
There is a turnip buried in the pot from which tiny heads grow, gradually getting broader with age.
I think my phone is finally giving up.

Such a strange plant but well grown.

Does this plant offset with age? Mine is still single headed.

Generally in habitat,any multiple stemmed plants are the result of grazing, usually by goats

But my 20+ year old plant does now have 3 offsets, not sure if any others in my collection have though.

Mine have finished flowering now, but I just found this photo on my phone from April 29th.....

Surely it can't be that easy for a goat to hide in your greenhouse, Rob?

A few of my Turbinicarpus have offset with age, and while in some cases it probably is due to a growing point failing for some cause (insects? chemicals?), I'm not convinced it always is.

Definitely no goats here Ralph. This on has offset with age, and yes, plenty of other Turbs will do so as well, even things like T.knuthianus which Hofer says in his book will NEVER offset without damage.
I did have a seedling subterraneus which I deliberately damaged (not by chewing it!) some years ago, it did produce two new heads, but it never really made much of a plant. I also have a booleanus which germinated as 'twins'. And a number of seedlings of my hybrid booleanus x subterraneus came us as twins and even a triplet!

Well, I spoke too soon. Was watering Saturday to find out mine has sadly died. The top part is now complete mush. Hard to believe as it flower continuously this year.

Would there be any hope if I cut it back to the woody stem and pray for an offset?
