large brown mark on cactus
What is wrong with my cactus? This side was facing the corner of my cold frame which was made out of wood. Is it possible that the wood "radiated" some dampness?

Unheated in winter? Probably just got too cold.

It's Oreocereus celsianus, which I've had take a few degrees of frost many times without harm. But this does like like physical damage, maybe cold, as Ralph suggests, or burn from strong sun - especially if sun early in the morning after frost in the night.
