Hello edds,
As soon as I saw your picture I thought of my Bolivicereus which came from Ralph at The Cactus Shop in Devon about 2 years ago, see what you think?
Cleistocactus???

I've taken these from different angles around the flower.
This is the label.

Got the generic name wrong and,now you've suggested ex G.C I think that might be it! I'm assuming from Graham Charles?
The first plant shown in flower is definitely Cleistocactus brookeae, and most likely ssp. vulpis-cauda which has a shorter, "dumpier" flower than ssp. brookeae.
My plants have just finished flowering so can't send pics for comparison. Ssp. vulpis-cauda needs a hanging basket or shelf from which it can hang down. One of my plants is getting too long and is about to hit the floor from the staging above so not easy to accommodate.
Sorry, but I can't help with the hieroglyphics on the label.
Cheers,
Colin

Re: Cleistocactus???
It's similar but mine doesn't have the longer spines I can see on yours. Has your plant flowered?

Yours looks fuzzier than mine Phil but very similar. Which ssp. is it?

Re: Cleistocactus???
Thanks Colin. From reading on the internet (always a dangerous thing!) I found reference to ssp.vulpis-cauda having red flowers instead of yellow and soft spines. Mine has neither. The spines are short but stiff.Colin Walker wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 5:43 am Sorry to come late to the party.

I was thinking it was a pendant form of sap.brookeae.
Do you (or anyone else) have access to (or know where I can get) the type description?
I'd say mine corresponds to a pendant version of this (assuming it is correctly labelled!)

Re: Cleistocactus???
The other two branches were in flower today (but I didn't have chance to get a photo). All three branches have identical flowers so looks like I need to find a real aureaspina!!!
