Here’s an ungrafted Ginseng bought many years ago from Marks and Sparks.

It could do with a better pot for display but at this size they aren't cheap.

Not sure what size that is, but local garden centres round here have offered clay 10 inch half pots for £3.50 for at least the last 2 years - several pallet-loads have appeared each autumn and sold over 2-3-4months, at a guess. If that would be big enough, just visit garden centres occasionally but regularly in your neighbourhood.Herts Mike wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 1:04 pm It could do with a better pot for display but at this size they aren't cheap.
Not sure of the price but frost-resistant clay half pots from a range that is in every garden centre around here, are available bigger. I would guess a price round £7-8, but just an educated guess.

It’s bigger than it looks in the picture and I’d like something sympathetic to a bonsai look.
I probably live in the most concentrated area of garden centres in the country.
Nevertheless I will see if there is a suitable clay half pot then paint the inside with clear varnish but I really need 15”.

Hmmm - that is huge. I'd be looking out for a sale!!! A real McCoy, fancy "Bonsai bowl" would be eye-wateringly expensive.
Ever looked in second-hand/junk shops for a wash-stand bowl, from a set? Worth a look if you are passing any.

No, that would look wrong.
I do actually have one but it’s too big. About 18” and very heavy.

Most would - flared out at the top, but some look more like Mason mixing bowls, like a rounded half-pot. They come in every kind of finish, all glazed though.
For sure, any ceramic at 15" is not going to be light. I did think of the many and various "synthetic" pots, even reinforced plaster/cement types, but they are meant for outdoor use and would need something substantial underneath to stop damage to whatever it was stood on. Large plastic saucers are at least as expensive as the corresponding pots.
