Sorry guys, but I'm not sure why I'm still showing as being the BCSS President. I've not been here for ages and I've just edited out my previous statuses, etc. such as in my signature. Need to find where the caption for my photo is and update that.
Cheers,
Colin

Hi Colin,
Yes, welcome back!
If you go into your User Control Panel/Profile (where you changed your Signature but select the Edit Profile tab) you might be able to change your Role within the BCSS from the drop-down (Note, there has been an apparent problem with members being able to change this in sime instances).

Thanks for your help Tony.

Well I've tried to fix the problem. I changed my role within the society yesterday to simply Member, but my avatar is still showing as BCSS President. I've deleted my avatar, but can't update that since I don't have a file as small as the apparently required 17Kb.

So I'm stuck. My frustrations with this website are beyond description. As President I tried very hard to get this fixed as a priority but to no avail, hence my resignation at last year's AGM. Greg I regret to say has a lot to put right.
Cheers,
Colin

Thanks for putting me right, Colin.

Can you comment on what the plant here might be then?
http://www.llifle.com/Encyclopedia/SUCC ... meintjesii

Its stems are quite different from Diane's plant. Is there a lot of variation in appearance of this hybrid? Or does that page show yet another plant?

And then there is the plant on this page, which is very different again, this time in flowers as well as stems:

As you’re a stickler for correctness Colin, shouldn’t it be Ceropegia x meintjesii?

Not until someone publishes that combination.

Hi Ralph,

The two links show different plants to what Diane first posted.
The first has a smallish flower and small corolla lobes.
The second has large lobes, so has more influence of Stapelia IHMO.

Neither I would suggest match the original xS. meintjesii, so maybe are second generation crosses. There are loads of stapeliad hybrids now circulating in cultivation with very dubious parentage and names.

BTW, it was sobering to realise yesterday that it's 43 years ago since I first published an article on Tavaresia in what was then Asclepiadaceae, later to become Asklepios.

Mike,

I don't accept the lumping of stapeliads into Ceropegia. FYI neither does Kew and now neither does the RHS on my recommendation.
