It's got a distinctive leaf scent and, more useful, as it's not really a succulent, is the first plant to wilt in the greenhouse so acts a reminder that the other plants might need watering. It's just a matter of time before Dutch nurseries start to grow it as a houseplant once seed becomes available in quantity.

.......... It's just a matter of time before Dutch nurseries start to grow it in Indonesia or equatorial/central-southern Africa as a houseplant once seed becomes available in quantity.

Can’t say I’ve ever noticed it prone to wilting.

I've got both U. peltata and U. grandidieri in flower right now. The latter flowered for the first time last year after 6 years in cultivation. The plant is now 1.8 m tall.

U. peltata is smaller and featured in Presidential Potted Plants in CW a while back. This year it had 40 flowers open simultaneously.

U. roeoesliana flowered for the first time two years ago after 20 years in my collection. This is a much smaller, slow-growing spp. with an obvious above-ground basal swelling to the stem.

All three species have swollen rootstocks.
