A nice (almost) spineless form of Tephrocactus geometricus in flower today.

Oooooooooo
That's nice

Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs. Recently discovered gorgeous Gasteria.

Very nice, Diane, one of my many favourites ... and SNAP!

Re: Tephrocactus geometricus
I'm with Mat - the Black Death is a serious issue with this species for me.

Re: Tephrocactus geometricus
Yes, “Black Death” seems to be a problem with this species. I have a couple of plants with ‘normal’ spination, that seem to suffer from the black fungus, but it’s never fatal, just unsightly. This particular plant has never suffered so far (), so maybe certain clones are more susceptible.
Lovely flower, Tony! Much better photo than mine, too.

Re: Tephrocactus geometricus
I've been spraying mine with Rose Clear fungicide ever since a total plant collapse some years ago. I don't know if it works as the key factor but so far so good and the two salvaged balls now have balls of their own.
