Is it me ?

Post by RAYWOODBRIDGE »

This TSG sub forum, now in it's 4th year, seems to get better each year, with a better range of plants and more people interested in them.

I don't have a lot to contribute but I've definitely seen things here that I've not seen anywhere else!
Growing in Nottingham for the past 4 years and recently found my way to a Nottingham branch meeting. A few plants on a windowsill has very quickly turned into a greenhouse full!

Attempting to grow a range of caudiciforms, tylecodon, euphorbia, coryphantha and turbinicarpus along with anything else that takes my fancy. I avoided mesembs for a long time but conophytums have recently broken my resolve.

Tempting me back to the real dark side, Ray.
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Definitely. Let us hope we can all get together as a F2F TSG in May 2023.

For me as a relative newcomer to Tephros this part of the forum has been a great source of information so it is great to see it doing so well recently.

Yes I was talking to John Betteley a couple of weeks ago and he said you two were hoping to get something sorted for 2023, that would be great. and also to see what rooted cutting you have for sale Tony

Glad to hear that Darren.
Unfortunately this sub forum is only seasonal from late March to October when the plants are at their best, then nothing or very little till the following year.
Maybe this winter I may try a monthly item about rare small Opuntia or an item of interest just to keep us all in touch through the dark nights.

Ray
Good to see you this morning at the Northern Cactus Mart.
Hope you managed to fill the 4 trays you had brought.
Sorry I couldn't stay longer ... domestic matters pending.
Did you manage to get the plants through customs at Stalybridge?
