The Beast being this Astrophytum senile ( photo 1 ).
While the Beauty is in the half open flower finding it difficult to get through the spines ( photo 2 )

Thanks for sharing
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
