This is only the second time I've flowered an opuntioid.
This plant lives on the very top shelf of the GH and it was only by chance during watering that I realised the plant was in flower.
For those who like a bit of taxonomic controversy, I'm using the genus Airampoa, but this is also known as Tunilla.
The pot though is far more interesting than the plant. This is a composite of some sort with pieces of slate embedded in it. It was a Christmas pressie that's already featured in CW.
For scale this pan is 26 cm long.
Thanks Tony, since this plant came from you.
It's a devilish plant though. To check the label I got many spines in the fingers and one pad came away altogether. I think this plant will fall apart should I ever repot it.
But it did win a 1st prize at the recent Glasgow Branch Show, but I'll confess, there was zilch competition in the opuntia group class.

The pot befits the plant, Colin!

Thanks Ray, this is one of my favourite pots.RAYWOODBRIDGE wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 9:26 pm Love the pot colin.

And yes, I have several opuntioids and maybe given time more will strut their stuff. I'm actually more into cereoids than these glochid-bearing things though.
