Haworthia Convention

Post by AllanA »

Excellent Convention with good speakers and lots of plants for sale  Came back with much emptier pockets.
There is an auction of plants on the saturday night as well as a lot of plants for sale from some of the participants.
One of the auction plants took my eye:-

There was an excellent talk from Karren Zimmerman from The Huntington Museum in USA about Aloes.
So...I had to buy one or two, this is one-

I also bought some Haworthias, especially if they had good lines.

I'm intrigued .....
How did you transport plants back to outer Scottish islands from Middle England?
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

I brought them back bare rooted in kitchen roll paper, in my bag, not my suitcase.
They are fine bare rooted for a couple of weeks.

No, I had about 30 in my bag and they never bothered with my bag.

All they scan for is liquids and solid sharp objects (beware of a hair straightener!).
