Yes but not as slow as I expected it to be.

Are the undersides of the leaves greener than the tops? Or is that just a trick of the lighting?

That certainly makes it more interesting then. I can't remember many (if any!) plants where the variegation was top to bottom, as opposed to side to side. (Of course, there are stripes, mosaics, etc too)
