My first cactus is flowering in my cold greenhouse!
Aylostera albipilosa FR754

Whereas, in the heat of my office, we're in Chamaelobivia and Epiphyllum season with an Echinopsis a matter of weeks away!

I've got lots of buds coming on the Chamaelobivia in the greenhouse too. I think there will be a lot of overlap between the them and the Rebutia/Aylostera this year as many of the buds seem at similar stages. Is everyone else seeing the same?

I like the Chamaelobivia 'Lincoln Tango' plant. Does this flower well indoors without a cold rest period?

The Aylostera albipilosa FR754 seedlings I have started flowering 8-10 days ago, so it seems I'm a bit ahead of you.
First Aylosteras to flower for me were A. flavistyla and A. albiflora and these started flowering together on the 22nd April.
For Rebutias, the 'true' Rebutias I have (R. miniscula, R. senilis) flower first in my experience,
but this happened only a week or so before the first Aylostera this year.
This does seem a bit shorter a gap than previous years, the effect of weather and watering I guess.

Thanks Simon. My Rebutia (pygmaea, elegantula, heliosa and others) have flowered yet, they're all still in bud! Think they're all going to flower at very similar times this year.

The 'Lincoln Tango' has been in the office all winter bar a 3 week stint in February when I bought it home. It gets down to 8oC or so in the office. It has certainly flowered better this year than last (but it flowered pretty well last year too) but I don't know if that is to do with the size of the short cold spell.

Lovely! I've a fair few pygmaea forms about to flower for the first time. Some from Ralph and some from Helios cacti seed from ebay. Am hoping they wait until weekend so I don't miss them.

A first time flowered for me today,

Aylostera einsteinii fma L167a
I love it when the flowers are almost as big as the bodies!

I agree .... just amazing to see a flower so large.
But not in GOC. Been really cold here. Nothing has opened. All flowers ..... just stopped.
