Hello, I'm a newbie

Post by JeffK »

Hi all.

I'm new here & sort of new to succulents & cacti (very much so re cacti).

I used to live in the Middle East, many years ago, so am a bit sentimental about succulents & have always had some as house plants. The new part is that I've only recently got into them in a more 'serious' way, actually learning about them & their care & propagation, rather than just sticking them on a window sill, watering occasionally & admiring them.

I have a degree in a completely different area of biology so, although it has very little direct relevance here, it'll probably affect the sort of questions I ask &/or how I ask them.

Anyway, that's me. I look forward to learning more & meeting some of you here, or even at events

Welcome Jeff
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Hi Ed,

I'm in West Yorkshire, & you?
Nottingham so not too far away. You can't be too far from Harlow Carr where there's a show in September.

Worth putting in your signature or similar so people know roughly where you are if you ask any questions relating to culture.
