Experiences with pumice and red or black lava stone to sow seeds
Do you have experiences using pumice, red or black lava stone to sow cactus or succulents seeds?

Re: Experiences with pumice and red or black lava stone to sow seeds
I am now using 100% 2-4mm Pumice for around 40 of my Mesembs which include Lithops, Conophytums, Faucaria. Cheiridopsis, Titanopsis, Dinteranthus and Stomatium.
I recently sowed 8 Faucaria tuberculosa seeds in Pumice and 7 germinated.
A colleague who grows everything in Pumice has found that all his plants grow well and are healthy but grow slightly slower than when using John Innes & grit.
I feed my Mesembs in Pumice once per month in their growing seasons only with Maxicrop seaweed plant stimulant at 1/4 strength of the maximum recommended feed.
