Nicely grown cactus lookalikes. It's too bad these aren't more widely grown. They are unique is so many ways.

Just a nomenclature correction; the 1st should be Trichodiadema calvatum
The 2nd looks somewhat like Trichodiadema bulbosum

Thanks Tom. I like them but not many do. I have checked my records; the calvatum was purchased in 2003 from Whitestone gardens UK. The owner had bought it back having sold it years earlier. It was a bit neglected and needed sorting out. It must have been about 10 years old when I bought it so its over 30 years old. Someone in the UK who is a national judge thinks the second one is T. densum, Roy Mottram who owned Whitestone was not so sure. That ones also about 30 years+ old. Both flower well.

Trichodiadema
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.
