Unexpected Volunteer Seedling

Post by ralphrmartin »

I get plenty of volunteer seedlings in my Aylostera pots, and have even had Lophophoras, but this one is something unexpected
Turbinicarpus valdezianus which I find very slow if you deliberately sow it...
Anyway, it is now repotted in pumice. It has 2 heads, each about 5mm across

They even look like pumice Ralph.
Sometimes when a piece pumice turns green I think it is another seed germination, until I put the right glasses back on.

It was nestled up agaainst the back of the parent (which is how I missed it at first). I thought the parent had offsetted (which in itself would have been unusual), but the seedling had its own roots and was not attached when I repotted the parent.,

I was going to say that was an amazing spot! But maybe a bit easier amongst a tray of Lophophoras B)
