Thanks Stuart I will get clarification on the list. There was a full colour article in Garden News a couple of weeks back. Ticket selling for the event is speeding up and I'm confident it will be a great success.Stuart wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 10:42 am The list includes 'Bob Potter Plants' who reappears then as ''Toobees Exotics', Andre Nitzu who reappears with the odd title of 'The Majestic Roots' and John Carr who is also the superhero with the alter-ego of 'Sulcoman'. As long as their tables haven't been duplicated, it's not a problem..
I've heard there's adverts in various garden magazines, there was meant to be adverts in Garden News but I've not spotted any when I've thumbed through them in Tescos. Has anyone seen any adverts to reach outside the BCSS regulars. If 600 people can come to a Cactus Mart in Herne Bay then it shouldn't be difficult to at least double that number for a National event. I've heard very different numbers about the number of tickets sold though I would expect most people to pay on the door. I'd recommend going for both days, four hours on the Saturday just isn't enough time to look closely at 600ft of sales tables

For what it's worth, I simply cannot decide whether to go on Saturday or Sunday, for both personal and, already mentioned here, "all nice plants will be gone by when the talks are organised" reasons.

Does anyone know whether paying punters can access the on-site catering to grab lunch before the time the plant sales opens?

With around a hundred tables, only attending on one day means less than two and a half minutes to look at each table and there could easily be 200 plants per table. Deduct time making purchases, having coffee etc and assuming not everyone can come in exactly at midday, probably less than two minutes a table. Hopefully Stoneleigh will have a fast system of letting people in once the doors open, will there be separate queues for those with advance tickets and those paying by card/cash and which queue will move fastest. I'd recommend coming for both days - it's looking good so far but be there early, you don't want to spend cactus buying time queuing to get in.

Your more likely to get bargains on Sunday, off me anyway as I don't want to take them home again.

It looks like there's been a change to the timings and plant sales should be open an hour earlier on both days - 11am Saturday and 10am Sunday though the BCSS Website still shows the later times of 12am Saturday and 11am Sunday.

New timings confirmed, BCSS website has now been updated, I'd recommend being there well before 11am just in case scanning tickets and collecting cash slows things down.
