Definitely a cracker
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs.

Mine has had a good show too. I also find Cheiridopsis speciosa to be a reliable flowerer, with a vivid purple flower, quite differnt to C. umbosa.

I’m afraid the orientation of the photo will not be correct, but C. pecularis is putting on a show for me, including a double flower from one plant. I grow these outside year round and they get our full winter rain (about 36” so far), brief lows into the high 20’s F. I never really pay any attention to them, but they don’t seem to mind. From seed…planted out in a bonsai pot.

Excellent! I very rarely get any Cheiridopsus to flower, and I don't get the leaves to turn that colour either. Maybe I just leave them out over winter ...
