Cracking
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs. Recently discovered gorgeous Gasteria.

Plenty here - but what I have lacked in the last few days is some sunshine to get them to open. Last week was better...

Aylostera hoffmannii at the front and Rebutia minuscula at the back.
The R.minuscula plants I grew from seed obtained from three old clumps.
The odd thing is that the light pink flower like R. violaciflora turned up in the seedlings but not on the parent plants.
The parent plants all had red or red/pink flowers.
I assume one of the seed donors was a mixed clump as plants with red and red/pink flowers turned up in the seedlings as well.
These R. minuscula are always one of the first plants to flower for me...

That interesting because my hoffmannii has been in flower this week as well, and has been the first of my aylostera to flower.
I have lots of developing buds bud everything is well behind compared to last year. Exciting though as many will be flowering for the first time since germinating three years ago.

Mostly growing cacti people may label astrophytum, aylostera, echinocereus, echinopsis, gymnocalycium, mediolobivia or sulcorebutia, in too little space with not enough sunshine, but lots of care. Long live collection numbers!
