You get really good value with this cactus - beautiful spines, beautiful flowers and even beautiful buds with feathered edges.

Lovely, Phil. Are those spines or hairs? I'd be tempted to give it a comb.

They are hairs Julie but I wouldn't advise getting too close. Those hooked spines can be nasty. It seems to keep itself tidy anyway so no comb necessary.

One good thing about the forum is that you get to see some lovely plants, and can make a mental note of the names. Then some time later you might spot one, perhaps without flowers and outwardly similar to some others in the tray. I always spend a long time looking over the sales plants at the branch meetings and often I don't spot the choice ones immediately. I'm glad I spotted this one.
