My Aloe aristata seems to have changed colour. It has been in the gh since I was given it and I suspect it might have suffered a bit of a check as I believe it was being grown indoors originally. Are my suspicions correct and will the plant return to its fresh green colour as new leaves develop? Will it be safe to put it outside in it's pot or would I be likely to lose it with rain and stuff?

It is just adapting to the change in light levels, nothing to worry about. It will be fine outside in it's pot for summer or, planted out in a well-drained bed, as a permanent planting in Weeley.
Looks like you have the wider leafed 'Cathedral Peak' too.

That looks very healthy to me. If it used to be greener it was being kept too dark.
When I used to have one it was typically purple and curled up like an artichoke, like this photo found using google.

Thanks guys. I'll put it outside in its pot for now, but I'm in the process of making another little succulent bed, so it will go into there. That's put my mind at rest anyway!

Is it pure aristata Marty or hybrid. Aristata is one of the hardiest Aloes as you probably know and will survive outdoors year round in the UK, I've had them buried in snow etc. no problem.
