Yes, it's good to hear, I was concerned and sent them a email but figured the services could be out...but it turns out Facebook may have some valid use after all!!

Their greenhouse/nursery is in Lonquen, a suburb south of Santiago and while it pales into insignificance compared to tragic loss of life and hardship being suffered by many over there, I hope there hasn't been too much damage, as I know they've put so many, many, hours of hard work into it...

Nice to know they are OK Christer. Here is a video they made of a Dutch cactus nursery on their European Tour last autumn. I finally met them in Leicester after corresponding for a few years. Note the automatic cactus potting and packing machine towards the end of the video.

Some more videos in the right hand column if you click on them.

Thanks, that is good news.

I've bought seed from him in the past and looked at most of his pictures from habitat, but never met him personally, but through the internet its made me realize that we are one big family sharing this bountiful table (world).

I hope I not sounding to sentimental. It hurts to see natural disasters.

Things like this effect the whole world.

hello friends

lucky that we are ok, but I can not say the same about people from south of Chile.
8,5 in Santiago but 8,9 to the south plus the tsunami in coastal areas...

Brendan burke (librarian of BCSS) and his girlfriend was at Santiago, but now they are staying with us in Lonquén.
the airport is still close and we have damage in all highways...

but we are alive... now is time to help and rebuild.

thank you very much for your concern!
