Re: Some brightness
Has it been in the greenhouse, Ian, or cold frame or in the open?

Re: Some brightness
Wow wow, that's what I like to see
Well done, it's not at all easy to flower I speak from bitter experience.
This one does flower better when exposed to cold, and there hasn't been much of that recently. Did you put your plant in the fridge?

Ever hopeful, trying to grow plants from arid sunny climates in the UK!

Delosperma sphalmanthoides - it's a beauty! I'd also like to know how / where you keep yours to get it into this sort of condition.
Interested in hardy cacti, specifically the few that will thrive outside in the UK.

Re: Some brightness
It grows mostly in a cold frame, so in the open for much of the summer. The cold frame plants go into an unheated greenhouse over winter as soon as the tender plants make room for them. Perhaps no warmer than a cold frame, but easier to manage during bad weather.

Re: Some brightness
Mine has been flowering like that too. Following advice from the forum (was it Lindsay ?) a few years ago, I keep mine in a cold frame in the winter and water it atleast a few times September to March. I keep it outside but with cover in the summer as I was told it goes dormant if baked under glass. I never let it dry out fully.
Since I started this regime it flowers every year (probably a bit less this year due to very little frost). I gave it a good watering in February and it started flowering soon after. A real joy for early spring.
