You have a great collection Robert, thanks for sharing! The M. spinescens is superb.
And yes, I might two other species, one with a caudex and the other that in Summer get's nicely coloured leaves.

Wow, nice collection. The only one I have is the purple M. shubei (?). My wife noticed it at a show and had to have one, so I tracked one down for her on the web.
She loves purple, of which I see a few more in your photos. I'll have to look into that aspect of the genus further.:)

Some very nice and rare plants here!! thanks Robert, Eve, and Dirk for sharing. I grew some too but like the smaller types more.... until my spectabile I carelessly planted outdoor flowered this year!! Now I gotta find some more of these stuff.
