Flowering today. I have a bit of a soft-spot for these plants

Good work with these - they look very similar to the way they do in habitat…..except you can still see some of the body…..

Re: Eriosyce esmeraldana FK436
These look nothing like my "esmeraldana" plants, which are covered in fluff. Perhaps mine are wrongly labelled - or just from a different location. I've only had them for 18 months and they haven't flowered so far.

The flower seems whiter this year? Same camera so perhaps weather conditions have influenced it in the same way that temperature will alter a white flowered Schlumbergera
- Just read Ralph's post re colour change due to flower age so perhaps that's a factor. The white flower only opened today so I will see if it changes before going over

Rod, I think you’ll find that your plant is Copiapoa esmeraldana.

I had one like Rod’s as well. Not sure where confusion came from - seed purchase - sowing - potting on. No doubt once it flowered. (It is hairy underneath the flower but not as much as Rod’s)
Apologies for the non-rotation, doing this on phone not PC.Re: Eriosyce esmeraldana FK436
