My latest post went straight in. Not the usual long delay.
I think Bill frightened it.
Nah
Wait until the kids get home from school and west coast America wakes up and then the forum members all try to post after their fine dining this evening!
Endeavouring to grow Aylostera, Echinocereus, Echinopsis, Gymnocalycium, Matucana, Rebutia, and Sulcorebutia. Fallen out of love with Lithops and aggravated by Aeoniums.
Currently being wooed by Haworthia, attempting hybridisation, and enticed by Mesembs. Recently discovered gorgeous Gasteria.
I notice the slowness mostly when I'm approving new-member posts (a sign that I really do need to post more in the forum itself!) and that can often be just before 6am - it doesn't seem any quicker then than at other times of day.
Phil Crewe, BCSS 38143. Mostly S. American cacti, esp. Lobivia, Sulcorebutia and little Opuntia

Theoretically its nothing to do with bandwidth as the forum is on unlimited, which while it doesn't actually mean that its unlikely that we would have the issues being noticed.
I may take the forum offline at some point and do some optimisation work on the database and see if that helps.
I've also noticed the extreme slowness in uploading posts recently, but was too polite to mention it . I'm going to time this post. Interestingly, previewing a post is instantaneous, it's the uploading that has been taking a long time.
